Welcome to Day 3
Motivation, Procrastination, and Task Initiation Mini-Course
Slow Things Down
In the Wild Cards
These cards are designed to help educators recognize how executive function challenges show up in real, everyday contexts.
They name moments you’ve likely already seen:
When students want to start but can’t get traction
When avoidance increases as pressure rises
When effort is present, but follow-through breaks down
At this point, many educators start to notice something shift. The scans gave language. The strengths reframed how you’re thinking. And now, certain moments begin to feel familiar.
That’s not accidental.
The next tools I want to share are the In the Wild cards and the In the Wild Workbook pages for procrastination and task initiation.
These cards and workbook pages won’t push you toward strategies, but instead will help make patterns visible.
That’s intentional.
When educators take time to understand why a pattern appears before trying to change it, support becomes more precise and students experience less pressure.
In the Wild Workbook
These pages are not for solving anything. They are designed to help educators gently interpret patterns they’re already seeing by asking questions like:
When does this show up most often?
What seems to increase the load in these moments?
What might be making this harder right now?
