Welcome to the Connected Pathways Academy E.F. Mini-Course
Over the next seven days, we’ll explore all things Motivation, Procrastination, and Task Initiation together.
Let’s start with the quick introduction video below.
Executive function support works best when we move in a specific order, because the brain needs certain questions answered before others make sense.
Here’s an overview of where we’re headed:
We start by scanning executive function, not to diagnose or label, but to notice where effort is present and where load might be getting in the way.
From there, we look at how those executive functions show up as strengths. What’s already supporting the student, even if outcomes are inconsistent.
Next, we name how executive function shows up in the wild. The real, everyday moments that often get misread as lack of effort or motivation.
Only after that do we introduce tips, and even then, they’re framed as experiments. Small things to try, notice, and adjust. Not fixes. Not expectations.
The workbook then helps hold all of this together. It expands the cards so educators can look more closely at the brain science and reflect on what they’re learning, while students are invited into different questions about when they feel stuck, when it’s hard to move on, and what might be getting in the way.
The videos extend the cards by offering additional examples and language. They help you hear how the same ideas sound across different students and situations.
We’ll wrap up by going beyond the tools and deep-dive into the science behind motivation, procrastination, and task initiation with free access to a complete module of our signature Mastering Executive Functions certification course.
If you’re feeling motivated, feel free to jump ahead any time using the navigation at the bottom of each day’s lesson.
